Grierson award nomination

Stephen Fry: Out There has been shortlisted for a 2014 Grierson Award with Stephen nominated in the ‘Documentary Presenter of the Year’ category.  The two-part BBC2 documentary saw Stephen travelling across the globe to find out what it means to be gay in countries such as Uganda, America, Russia, Brazil and India. Along the way he encountered some of the world’s most notorious homophobes and met victims of homophobic abuse.

Established in 1972, The Grierson Awards (also know as ‘The British Documentary Awards’) recognise and celebrate documentaries from Britain and abroad that have made a significant contribution to the genre and that demonstrate quality, integrity, creativity, originality and overall excellence.
