Mark Downie

Since joining Maverick in November 2006, Mark has Executive Produced Embarrassing Illnesses and Embarrassing Bodies for Ch4, Bizarre E.R. and its four-legged sibling Bizarre Animal E.R., for BBC Three, and is currently overseeing a major new prime-time series for ITV1.

He was previously at Channel 4 where he commissioned Come Dine with Me,  Deal or No Deal, Coach Trip and The New Paul O’Grady Show, as well as overseeing A Place in the Sun, Selling Houses and Richard & Judy.

At the BBC he was series producer of BBC Three’s architecture and design series Dreamspaces, produced and directed documentaries about George Michael and The Beastie Boys and worked as a director on The Ozone, Glastonbury, Summer Holiday, Fasten Your Seatbelt, One Foot In The Past, The Grammy Awards, Top Of The Pops Plus and Edinburgh Nights.


Andrew Anderson

Andrew joined Maverick following a period at Touch Productions as Head of Features, having previously enjoyed a long spell at Talkback Thames where he Executive Produced Designs for Living and Families Behaving Badly for Five.

Previous to that he Executive Produced Property Ladder and House Doctor, as well as working as a Producer/Director on top programmes, including Grand Designs and Ground Force. Andrew is currently Executive Producing the fifth series of 10 Years Younger.

Steph joined Maverick in November 2007 and is currently overseeing the Embarrassing Bodies brand for Channel 4 whilst developing a slate of features and factual entertainment projects.

Prior to joining Maverick, Steph was Creative Director of Radar, part of the RDF Media Group. This was preceded by a four year run at Talkback Thames where she was Editor of Factual, overseeing a slate of hit shows including How Clean Is Your House, The Sex Inspectors and Honey I Ruined The House for Channel 4.

Jilly Pearce joined the Maverick team as Executive Producer in 2008 from MTV, where she was Director of Development for both International and Networks Europe.  She was part of the commissioning team behind hit series Kerry Katona: Crazy In Love and returning drama-doc Living On The Edge, and Executive Produced a variety of projects.

Previously she has worked on a range of programming for various broadcasters including Shattered and Headliners for C4, Fame Academy and Re:Covered for the BBC, and This Morning and SM:tv for ITV.


Charlotte Reid

Charlotte joined Maverick in January 2008 to Executive Produce How To Look Good Naked and now works across features productions, and develops features formats.

Previously, Charlotte has Series and Executive Produced features formats including You Are What You Eat and How Clean Is Your House? for Channel 4. She has been Series Producer on observational shows like Desperate Midwives for the BBC and entertainment docs including the first series of Bridezillas, which went onto spawn many return series. Charlotte also worked at Maverick some years ago when she produced the documentary Lock Up Your Daughters, part of the critically acclaimed Teenage Kicks season for Channel 4.


Jane Galpin

Jane has been working with Maverick since 2004 – but in February 2008 she joined the staff in the newly created role of Executive Producer, Fashion. Having worked for more than twenty years as a highly respected stylist and fashion consultant, Jane brings both extensive production experience and an enviable contacts book to Maverick. Her past credits include The Clothes Show for BBC1 with Jeff Banks and Caryn Franklin (which Jane also helped to launch) and working as a Fashion Producer for Style Challenge, also for the BBC.

Since 2004, Jane has played an integral role on all of Maverick’s features output – including 10 Years Younger and How To Look Good Naked. As Maverick’s Executive Producer, Fashion Jane is responsible for developing and managing all the fashion aspects of Maverick programming and live events. Jane is also the co-founder of women’s fashion advice website www.howtolookgood.com which was voted by Yahoo! as one The Top 100 Websites for Women.


Madonna Benjamin

Madonna has been working as an Executive Producer for Documentaries at Maverick since 2003. Her credits include Born Too Soon and Kids on Porn for Channel 4, Gail Porter Laid Bare and RTS Award-winner Male, 33, Seeks Puberty, both for BBC One. Recent productions include The Madness of Modern Families – a six-part comedy documentary series which she co-devised and executive produced for primetime BBC Two – and Who Gets Custody of the Dog? for BBC One’s ONE Life strand.

Before working as an Executive Producer, Madonna spent ten years producing and directing her own films, both singles and series for Channel 4 and the BBC. Hailing from Queensland, she originally came to England to dance with the Royal Ballet.


Paul Woolf

Paul Woolf is Maverick's Head of Development.

Paul Woolf is Maverick's Head of Development. Paul first joined Maverick in 1997 as a graduate trainee. He worked in production as a runner, researcher, assistant producer and producer, and was part of the team that developed BBC2's Christmas Trade Secrets, the Bravo formats Ten Things You Didn't Know and Car Sharks, and single documentaries for BBC3, Channel 4 and The Discovery Channel.

In 2002 Paul returned to academia and now has a PhD in American Studies from The University of Birmingham. He also taught courses at the University in television production, American literature, and crime fiction. Paul came home to Maverick in 2006. He originated the BBC3 series Bizarre ER and co-developed the Channel 4 series The Shooting Party, which showcased the work of disabled filmmakers, and the BBC2 documentary Sectioned. Between 2008 and 2010 Paul worked in New York, helping to advance Maverick's presence with American broadcasters and developing US versions of several Maverick programmes.

In April 2010 he moved back to London to become the company's new Head of Development.


Dan Jones

Dan heads up Maverick’s interactive division, leading all cross-platform productions.

He has been Executive Producer on more than twenty sites for prime time shows, ranging from Embarrassing Bodies to Grand Designs. He has also Exec Produced the Film4 and 4Homes sites for Channel4. Dan picked up a BAFTA at 25 and along with producing a number of award-winning projects, was a Broadcast Hotshot in 2007 and was named University of Birmingham Alumnus of the Year in 2008. He founded the 4Talent awards and was Editor-in-Chief of 4Talent magazine, and has been a judge for the BAFTA TV awards, BAFTA Craft, D&AD and the British Interactive Media Association awards. In 2009 Dan collected a second BAFTA for Maverick's work on Embarrassing Bodies Online, and was co-exec on a third BAFTA winning production, Embarrassing Bodies Live in 2010.


Donna Mulvey-Jones

Donna manages Maverick’s growing Facilities Departments across both our sites in Birmingham and London. This includes the various editing facilities as well as all camera kit bookings. Donna is also responsible for booking external post production requirements for all productions. In addition she manages the reversioning and deliverables for Maverick’s international distribution.

Donna joined Maverick 5 years ago, although she spent the first few years in Production working on programmes such as 10 Years Younger, The Property Chain, Home From Home and Fat Chance. She has also Production Managed several of Maverick's one off documentaries.


Holly Palin

Holly is responsible for Maverick's corporate and programme PR.  As well as working with broadcasters on unit and transmission publicity for Maverick productions, she also looks after corporate communications across the company's broadcast and digital media divisions.

Holly joined Maverick from ITV in 2009 where she was Head of Programme Publicity:  for 11 years, she managed the PR strategy for ITV Drama and Arts.  Working closely with the commissioning teams led by Laura Mackie and Melvyn Bragg, Holly was responsible for proactive publicity, corporate issues and crisis management.  Prior to that, she was a Senior Account Executive at Mark Borkowski PR, where her clients included Cirque du Soleil, Michael Flatley, The Three Tenors and the Royal Albert Hall.   Previously, she worked in the press office at the Royal Shakespeare Company. 


Allison Todd

Allison Todd has joined Maverick TV as Head of Production from Cineflix, where she held the same role for the last three years. She will be overseeing programme management, and supervising all projects from development to delivery.

Previously a Production Executive at IWC Media, Allison has extensive experience in production management roles on a range of primetime, Emmy and Bafta award winning landmark series, formats and specials for broadcasters such as the BBC, ITV, C4, C5, Discovery and National Geographic.
