Maverick Television Limited has recently been awarded a contract to build and supply a digital services platform and content to the West Midlands Strategic Health Authority.
In winning the bid, Maverick led a consortium of consultants, medical services, academics, technology developers and digital media service providers who are contracted to deliver a comprehensive online service to the 5.3 million patients and staff of the SHA over the next 5 years. The service will be designed to address both the health needs of NHS users in the West Midlands and to provide a platform for professional dialogue and improvement for all health service employees in the area.
We are looking for a Service Director, who will have direct operational responsibility for the development, delivery and day-to-day management of the service from its launch in early 2010. The Service Director will lead the team of senior managers of Technical, Operational, Marketing, Content and Compliance.
The chosen candidate will need to show a depth of insight and clarity to define and create the service from launch, and have a vision in mind for the growth of the service over time. This person will be involved in all day-to-day decisions relating to design, functionality and content to help define how each works, with a view to delivering the experience that best fits with the Service and objectives. They will maintain client liaison on a day to day basis as well as participate in the regular editorial, compliance and steering boards.
This is a full time senior role, which carries a high level of responsibility, based at the Service’s headquarters in Birmingham, on an annual rolling contract. The chosen candidate will work alongside the Service Launch Director and report directly to Maverick’s Digital Media Director.
The successful applicant will have at least 5 years digital media experience and ideally public health knowledge working for either public or private sector clients.
