Kevin McCloud’s journey through India’s Dharavi slum proved both popular and controversial with viewers, provoking much discussion within our programme support pages. Alongside episode guides we were able to publicise charities working in Mumbai and beyond to improve the lives of residents, as well as delving into the India’s unique and varied architectural history.
Fashion guru Gok Wan returns in How to Look Good Naked... With a Difference, to encourage women with physical disabilities to feel fabulous about their bodies. These episodes are supported by extended online content where users, both able-bodied and disabled, can learn tips and share ideas about how to look fabulous. Working closely with Gok and the fashion team, we wrote brand new content, including an Q&A Style Guide and advice on how to customise your clothes. There are also exclusive interviews with Gok and his gorgeous girls, celebrity fashion tips and the chance to support the HTLGN petition, encouraging British retailers to use disabled models in their add campaigns.
Kirstie and Phil are back with a brand new series, so we’ve developed a Rate Your Region Map, allowing site visitors to log on and leave comments and ratings on 434 UK boroughs. The map averages out all of the ratings to provide and ever-changing list of the top and bottom 20 places to live in the UK, as voted by the great British public.
As part of the new series, a group of volunteers – young and old, male and female and all from Amateur Dramatics societies - will demonstrate simple self-checks you can do on your own body. Online, users can carry out the same checks with video guidance from Dr Christian Jessen, including details of what to look out for. Users are then able to anonymously upload their results to the EB website – giving us a unique and immediate picture of the nation’s health. The results of which will be reported in the following week’s TV broadcast.
Programme support for Kirstie’s Homemade Christmas broke daily traffic records on 4Homes in December 2009. The site provided tips and How To guides for everything featured in the show, suppliers lists, information on craft courses, advice from Kirstie, and the ability for users to upload their own crafts and rate others.
We’ve added some new features for the latest series of Grand Designs, including detailed galleries to help users find all the amazing products featured in each show, and where to buy them.
The EB Doctor’s have been through the 22,000 comments that have so far been left on the site, and have recorded video pieces with additional advice and reassurance covering the most common themes and questions.

Working closely with TV production company IWC, and Kirstie Allsopp, we’ve produced programme support for Kirstie’s Homemade Home. Aside from extensive info on each episode, there are also numerous How To Guides on everything from hanging curtains to making cushions, and features from Kirstie ranging from reclaiming furniture from skips, to buying at street markets. Users can also upload their own homemade crafts, and have them rated.
